Where is Berrima?
Berrima is a famous historic village established in 1831. It is located in the Southern Highlands, approximately halfway between Sydney and Canberra.
Where does the tour start?
The guided walking tour starts on the grassy area beside the Surveyor General Inn, in the main street of Berrima.
Who guides the tours?
All guides are local residents, passionate about Berrima’s history. Founder and guide, Lynn Watson, has lived in her beloved Berrima for over two decades, is member of the Berrima Residents Association, on the committee of the successful Battle for Berrima to stop a coal mine and recently chaired The Charlotte Project to install a bronze statue of Charlotte Atkinson (1796-1867) Australia’s first children’s author, in Berrima’s Marketplace Park.
What shall I wear?
The main requirement is to wear comfortable walking shoes. It is only a one hour walking tour however you might want to bring a hat, sunscreen and a bottle of water.
How strenuous is the tour?
Our walking tours are conducted at an easy pace, covering approximately two kilometers, with a few small inclines. There are regular pauses, to share important facts and stories.
What happens if it rains?
Our tours will be conducted in most weather conditions. However, if the weather is particularly inclement, the tour may be cancelled.
Is the tour suitable for prams and wheelchairs?
Yes, the tour is suitable for wheelchairs and prams however part of the tour is on unsealed and uneven walkways.

  1. By accepting this ticket, the Participant/s agrees to the following conditions:

  2. BWT shall not be liable or responsible at law for the illness, injury or death of any ticket purchaser/s or groups under their control or for any damage to or loss of luggage or personal possessions caused by or partly caused by any negligent act or omission of BWT.

  3. The Purchaser/s embarks on the scheduled tour at his/her/their risk absolutely.

  4. BWT reserves the right to cancel or vary this service in any way.

  5. This ticket is not transferable and is the property of BWT and must be presented when required by BWT to enable a person to use the service.

  6. BWT reserves the right to refuse its services without assigning any reason.

  7. No condition of travel other than that endorsed on this ticket will be recognised. Verbal promises by booking agents will not be recognised.

  8. BWT shall not be liable for any loss or damage which may arise or be alleged to arise in the event of cancellation of this service or the abandonment of the service during the course thereof (should BWT decide that abandonment is necessary) or of any deviation or delay in any service arising from any cause whatsoever. In any such event, BWT shall not be liable in any way for any costs incurred other than the intended original service or for any alternative means of travel which may arise and any additional expense arising shall be the liability of the purchaser/s.

  9. BWT may contract for another person to undertake the guided tour. Such person and his/her/their servants shall be protected by and entitled to the benefits of these conditions to the same extent as BWT.

  10. BWT may take photographs and video recordings of you while you are a participant of the service. These may be used in BWT’s brochures and/or advertising and publicity material without obtaining any further consent or payment of such photographs and/or videos.

  11. BWT may use any text written in comments books, in customer surveys, in brochures websites and/or advertising and publicity material without obtaining any further consent or payment in respect of comments.

  12. In these conditions, BWT means Berrima Walking Tours and Purchaser/s or Participant/s means the person/s to whom this ticket is issued or in the event of a group in the person/s in that group.
